About LITNET! in Czech Republic

We believe that effective and sustainable ministry flows from relationships. Our involvement in the Czech Republic began with a surprising friendship. In 2005-2006 we met and became friends with a married couple who were Fulbright Exchange Teachers from the Czech Republic. After they returned home, we were invited to visit them. In 2007 we traveled for the first time to the Czech.

We accompanied our friends to the lovely medieval city of Znojmo.

The Need...

Literacy rates in the Czech Republic are on par with the United States. The national public school system provides an excellent academic education opportunity to the children in this nation. Establishing LitNet! ministry in the Czech Republic made It necessary for us to embrace a paradigm shift in HOW and WHY Christian teaching materials would be developed. Christ is building his church in small congregations, cell groups, and home churches in the Czech. Many members of these "grassroots" churches are first generation Christians. Their Christian children need good quality educational materials that teach them about Jesus, the Bible, and teach Biblical character traits. The focus of LitNet! ministry in the Czech Republic has shifted from BECOMING LITERATE to USING LITERACY to teach children about the Christian life.

  • LitNet! partners with Christian parents to develop children's reading materials that teach Biblical character traits
  • LitNet! partners with Christian parents to produce children's reading materials
  • LitNet! partners with Christian parents to publish these materials

The Network...

In Znojmo, CZ, we are working with a team of parents who have already translated and published LitNet! African Alphabet Animal Stories in the Czech language. Headed by a mom and Sunday School teacher, the team is working with us to write, translate, and illustrate a new book of fables and Bible stories for children that will be called Stories from the Shepherd.

  • Pray for the continued, effective growth of this ministry, and for an extension of the network in The Czech Republic.
  • Pray for Iva and her associates as they work to bring quality Christian education opportunities for the children in their fellowship.
